Dr. Kamenetz joined the practice in 2010 and is the head of the Women’s Imaging department. Prior to joining UDMI, Dr. Kamenetz obtained his radiology training at Beth Israel Hospital in NYC (now part of the Mount Sinai Medical system). After residency, he stayed an additional year to complete a Breast and MRI fellowship. Dr. Kamenetz spent a combined 8 years obtaining both a medical degree and a Ph.D. in genetics at SUNY Stony Brook. His thesis work on Alzheimer’s Disease, performed at the prestigious Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, was published as a leading article in the influential journal Neuron. He obtained his undergraduate degree at Columbia University with an Honors degree in Biology.
Dr. Kamenetz has authored articles and has been the recipient of research grants and numerous medical awards.
Born in Brazil, Dr. Kamenetz moved to the US at an early age and has been a New Yorker ever since. He speaks Portuguese and Spanish.
